Christianity’s Bottom Line

To all who are facing difficult struggles (and that’s most of us), I’d like to ask you a question:  What difference would it make, to know that our perfect, Almighty God has chosen to act on your behalf?  What difference would it make, if that which we messed up through sin, God, in Christ, fixed up through grace?

It would make all the difference in the world, wouldn’t it? It would make all the difference in eternity!  We see, when Christ comes to dwell in you and me, we have been set free from the power of sin — because we have a brand new relationship with Christ, and with God.  And something fundamentally new has happened inside of us.

Here’s Christianity’s bottom line:  If you’re a Christian today — I don’t care what your experience has been, what your addictions are, what you have done, what obstacles there might be to overcome — let me tell you about you.  You are not a slave to sin anymore.  You have been taken out of sin and placed into Jesus Christ.  And just as sin has no power over Christ — guess what?   You’re in Christ!

Do you remember what he said?   “I have come that you might have life!” (John 10:10)  I didn’t just come to tell you to behave; I didn’t just come to give you an example — I came to give you life!  And guess whose life he gave you?  His own!  His life.  And Jesus said that you would experience it abundantly.

Do you realize that, now, Jesus Christ is your life?  He’s not just your example.  And all you have to do, for him to overcome any of the obstacles that may be standing in your way, is allow him to live his life through you.  Because you are in Christ.
