There was once a time when sinful humanity took two timbers and fashioned them together into the cruelest instrument that could be devised: a cross. But Jesus took those same timbers, hastily and brutally put together, and he has 
transformed them into a fix-it shop. And he has used that same cross to repair more broken hearts, more broken homes, more broken lives than you can imagine. And you may break somewhere else, but where Christ has repaired you, you will never break again.
Friends, let me tell you: that one simple truth will forever change your Christian experience. God’s incredible grace comes into your life when you realize that you can’t do it for yourself. And at that point, your loving heavenly Father will open the eyes of your heart and you will know that Jesus Christ has given you his life — and his life, living in you, has the power to break the stronghold of sin and despair in your life.
I’d like to suggest that later today, maybe tonight, you will pray this prayer: 
“God, thank you for the freedom that you’ve given me in Christ, and for the grace that can overcome any of the obstacles that my selfishness or sin has tried to place in the way, to keep me from having a new and complete relationship with you. And I want to experience that now. I want to know what it means to allow Jesus Christ to live his life, through me.”
And I believe that God will answer that prayer.
